True Anomaly Expands to Long Beach

True Anomaly is expanding its operations with a new 90,000 sq foot factory in Long Beach, CA that will allow it to boost manufacturing and development capabilities.

The facility—a new product development center—will work on payload development and new spacecraft designs, streamlining hardware and software development and production as the firm looks to expand its classified operations.

“As the cost of launch starts to come down dramatically with Starship, we’re envisioning new architectures that are possible with that lift capacity,” CEO and co-founder Even Rogers told Payload.

Why: True Anomaly’s expansion was inspired by a need to have design and production capabilities for new products side by side, plus enable vertical integration to cut risks in the supply chain, Rogers said.

  • 70,000 square feet will be dedicated to design and production of hardware and software systems as the company prepares for new product launches and the upcoming VICTUS HAZE mission with DoD.
  • 20,000 square feet will be office space for True Anomaly’s growing workforce.

Space Beach: True Anomaly will have a number of space-focused neighbors in the industry hub of Long Beach, which puts them in the backyard of Space Systems Command, Vandenberg Space Force Base, and other industry leaders—and, it believes, poised to draw top talent.

“Our value proposition is very different, and we’re one of the only companies in the world that that talent can flock to if they want to work exclusively on space superiority,” said Rogers.
