EnduroSat Raises $100M+, Opens New Space Center

EnduroSat has raised a $100M+ funding round to help it ramp up to building two satellites per day.

The round, announced on Thursday, included participation from Riot Ventures, Google Ventures, Lux Capital, the European Innovation Council Fund, and Shrug Capital.

New digs: The Bulgarian satellite manufacturer also announced the opening of a new Space Center, a 188,000+ square foot facility to scale up production of its Frame EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA)-class sats. The facility includes labs, clean rooms, and testing facilities, in addition to equipment to build up to two satellites daily with a mass of 200 kg to 500 kg each.

Just right: The new funding and factory will help EnduroSat meet growing demand for mid-sized constellations that include dozens to hundreds of satellites. Networks of this size are well-suited for companies or countries looking to up their space game with comms or EO capabilities, according to a press release.

Two-fer: The $100M raise marks EnduroSat’s second funding news of the year. The company announced a €43M ($48.8M) raise in May to fuel development of a larger satellite bus with more power to support payloads for hyperspectral imaging, SAR, and navigation missions.
