NYC financial-exchange startup Nebex announced a partnership with Thrusters Unlimited, a Mexican EO and space system manufacturer, to help structure $700M in funds for Mexican sovereign space programs.

The capital will fund EO, telecoms and other strategic capabilities, according to Nebex. The partnership aims to help Mexican demand find industrial supply, and manage the flow of capital, procurement requirements, and national priorities.

Under the collaboration, Nebex will manage the flow of capital through its financial exchange platform, while Thrusters Unlimited provides local know-how and connections to Mexican procurement programs and space-industry suppliers.

Exchange details: Nebex was founded in 2025 by former Axiom Space CEO Tejpaul Bhatia, former Axiom Chief Growth Officer Anand Subramanian.

Nebex’s platform connects sovereign space systems buyers with commercial suppliers, in an aim to simplify space procurement and manage the flow of capital. The company assists with everything from procurement financing to guaranteeing industrial return on trade.

Basically, Nebex is a “clearinghouse…for global space procurement, and that’s what allows us to manage cross-border complexities, ensure milestones, create these trade-financing solutions. How we make money on the transactions is fees, float, and spread,” Bhatia told Payload.

Nebex is looking to solve a bigger market problem: Despite the billions of dollars pouring into the space sector, the industry has long lacked a standardized mechanism to manage the flow of capital—unlike other high-capex industries like energy, AI, and transportation.

This gap in the market means that many space sector deals can fall through—or entire businesses can fail—not because of the value of the hardware being built, but because of the financial friction inherent in the fragmented and complex global space ecosystem.

Nebex aims to fill this gap by ensuring that buyers can quickly find suppliers, and that capital can flow when needed. So, for instance, a prime contractor can order long-lead-time components, ahead of reaching milestones which would otherwise finance those purchases.

“What we’re able to do is wrap the entire transaction with insurance,” Bhatia said. “I’m not ensuring whether the vehicle goes up or not. What do I know about that? But I’m ensuring whether someone gets paid or not.”

Viva la space: Despite being just a year old, Nebex has quickly captured some major deals for the industry, and the Thrusters Unlimited partnership is just the latest in a growing number of deals Nebex expects to close in the near future, spreading across Latin America and beyond.

  • In June, Nebex established a banking relationship with JP Morgan, and announced a $30M seed round led by Google Ventures to scale its platform and begin making deals with sovereign space programs.
  • In August, Nebex launched a €100M ($112.6M) industrial-return initiative in France to connect French space startups with global space systems buyers.
