European Space Cargo Start-Ups Strike Seven Mission Deal
Germany’s ATMOS Space Cargo and France’s Space Cargo Unlimited (SCU) are teaming up.
The company has now flown 14 Electron missions this year.
New Shepard’s four flights in 2024 match 2022 as the second-busiest year for the vehicle since 2021.
WorldView Legion 3 and 4 are now delivering data to customers.
The first Lunar Terrain Vehicle is expected to touch down in 2029.
The Exploration Company has $800M in contract backlog from private space station companies.
“Today’s update to our satellite spectrum sharing rules allows first movers to enjoy the advantage they’ve earned by daring to think big and take on risk, while also opening our skies to more competition,” FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said.
The company is now managing instruments on the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
“We see considerable opportunity to leverage RS1 … to enable a new type of research effort around missile defense technologies.”
The sale will allow the Spire to pay off more than $118M in debt and leave it with another $100M on its balance sheet.
The news comes as competing small satellite launchers Astra and Relativity are also seeking new funding for their launch vehicle development programs.
